Li Peng, Corporate Senior Vice President and President of Huawei ICT Sales and Services, delivered a speech at Huawei GITEX 2024 Thriving Together in the Intelligent Era

On October 14, Li Peng , Huawei’s Corporate Senior Vice President and President of ICT Sales and Services, delivered a keynote speech at Huawei GITEX 2024, titled “Thriving Together in the Intelligent Era”:

The digital economy is evolving into a smart economy. And it will soon become the main engine of global economic growth.

Right now, companies around the world are working hard to develop the skills needed to succeed in this new era.

Many companies are taking digital transformation to the next level. They are looking deeper into manufacturing scenarios and are looking for areas where digital technology can generate greater value, even in traditional industries.

Take manufacturing, for example. With full connectivity and industrial IoT platforms, manufacturers are collecting more data than ever before, paving the way for real-time intelligence.

Intelligent transformation is also accelerating. More and more companies are using artificial intelligence to increase productivity and reduce operating costs. This strategy opens the door to more innovative business models and improved customer experience.

For example, banks are using large AI models to generate complex user profiles in seconds. With these profiles, they can target marketing and issue loans more quickly. They are redefining the customer experience and driving new growth.

As the global economy evolves, the right path to follow is digital and intelligent. And it is the best way to stay competitive.

But that’s easier said than done. Different companies, different industries, and different regions are all at different stages of transformation. So how can we help them develop the right capabilities in the way that works best for them?

That’s what I’d like to talk about today. I’ll share the work Huawei is doing to help customers succeed, how we’re supporting our local partners, and how we’re developing the digital talent ecosystem.

At Huawei, we combine our strengths in networking, storage, computing, cloud, and energy to create a new digital and intelligent infrastructure.

Together with our partners, we serve leading customers in industries  such as government, finance, electricity, transportation, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, and the Internet.

We dive into their business environments and explore the best solutions for their digital and intelligent transformation. No matter what stage of your digital journey you are at, we can work together to help everyone succeed.

Last year, Huawei announced its All Intelligence strategy. We also released a reference architecture for the intelligent transformation of industries. It is collaborative, open, agile, and reliable, and can help guide the transformation process.

In practice, the architecture is already producing results. Over the past year, we have used it to develop numerous industry-specific solutions. We have also published over 100 case studies that organizations can use during their transformation process.

There are so many great success stories out there!

One of these took place in Ivory Coast . We helped the Ministry of Transport in this country to create a traffic analysis platform using our intelligent transport system. As a result, road safety risks decreased and traffic flow improved by more than 10%.

In addition, Huawei’s ” One Cloud , One Network” solution has helped 33 countries in the Middle East and Africa build inclusive connectivity, covering over 1,000 government agencies. Both service efficiency and satisfaction have improved significantly.

These are just a few examples of what we have accomplished together.

And none of this would be possible without our partners. Their contributions are critical and we want to help them grow as we work together to help our customers succeed.

At Huawei, we are committed to building a healthy, open, and mutually beneficial partner ecosystem. Our partnerships in the enterprise market are growing rapidly. Currently, more than 47,000 partners have joined us. This year alone, our partnerships have grown by more than 18%.

We have also established 14 OpenLabs around the world to support co-innovation with local solution partners. Together with more than 30 solution partners in the UAE , we have developed over 20 solutions to address the needs of local industry.

We don’t just work with large companies. There are many SMBs that want to become digital and smart. And we are doing everything we can to help our partners serve them more independently, simply and effectively.

We provide our partners with lightweight scenario-based solutions, more marketable products and efficient digital platforms. We also provide support in R&D, sales, marketing, supply and services, ensuring our partners end-to-end business support.

We also help our partners innovate their business and service models. For example, Huawei and BCX have created a cloud management platform to serve over 100 SMEs. This flexible cloud model helps SMEs purchase or lease network services, solving their O&M challenges and reducing CAPEX by over 20%.

On the services front, we are working with partners to strengthen local support capacities.

Mastery House  is one of our service partners in Saudi Arabia . Over the past eight years, the company’s revenue has multiplied by 16, and over 90% of its revenue comes from joint projects with Huawei.

Through the collaboration, Mastery House not only achieved rapid revenue growth but also developed the capabilities needed to become a leading ICT provider in Saudi Arabia.

Of course, you can’t move to digital or intelligent technologies without people with the right knowledge and skills. That’s why we’ve been working hard to help build local digital talent. Together with universities around the world, we’ve opened a series of ICT Academies to serve local communities.

These academies have trained more than 36,000 ICT engineers and 1,000 developers in Egypt . In Saudi Arabia , more than 32,000 students have received ICT training and 6,500 professionals have obtained Huawei ICT certification.

Going forward, we will continue to use benefits as a bridge, integrity as a foundation, and rules as a guarantee when working with our partners. By working together, we can develop more targeted and scalable solutions and drive success in global markets.

Digital and intelligent transformation should not be a privilege for a few. It should be a benefit for everyone.

Huawei is ready and willing to join forces with other customers and partners. Together, we can do more, create more, and capitalize on the great opportunities of this exciting new era.
