Bing announced on their search blog a new portal for tracking the US Presidential Elections at bing.com/elections.

The portal has some nice search features, such as the ability to filter news sources by your political views. The downside of this news filter is that only specific news outlets are included, such as Politico, Real Clear Politics, The Cook Political Report, Huffington Post and Associated Press. But nevertheless, it is nice to be able to filter your news sources and stories by political view.

Bing has this slider that lets you change the stories to be more left or right wing focused:

Besides for the real-time algorithmic news and slider from specific hand-picked sources, the portal also offers several more features.

(1) There is a real-time interactive map with national, state and local election results from two sources including The Cook Political Report and Real Clear Politics.

(2) There is a social section that pulls out select social interactions in real time from Twitter and Facebook.

(3) There is a polling place finder for people to learn where they should vote.

(4) General information about the candidates and additional videos, stories and images.

Google also has an elections portal, which they launched in January of this year.
